Building a global educational resource

We believe that many of humanity’s conflicts stem from a lack of appreciation for the diverse perspectives held around the world. These differences often originate in childhood education, particularly in how current events and historical events are portrayed. By collaborating with native pedagogical researchers, educational practitioners, and historians, our project seeks to collate and annotate history curricula and learning materials to highlight these variations and foster greater understanding.

Queryable knowledge base from learning materials and curricula around the world

Leveraging cutting-edge AI-powered annotation, information extraction, translation, and summarization technologies—coupled with human validation, we are building an easily queryable knowledge base grounded in human understanding. To learn more about our methods, visit our tech blog.

Digital tools and learning resources

The knowledge base allows us to develop interactive digital tools (e.g. interactive maps, question-answer systems, quiz generators) and non-digital learning resources (e.g. worksheets exploring comparisons of historical narratives, side-by-side summaries of historical narratives across countries, regions, time periods).

Research on global History education

Our research investigates the differences in history teaching and curriculum content worldwide. Through surveys and interviews with citizens and educators, we aim to understand how history is taught in diverse contexts. Are you a history educator? We invite you to participate in our History Teaching Survey and share your experiences.
